This agreement is between you, the Producer, and [LLC NAME], which runs Two Days, No Sleep ("we," "us," "the festival"). It covers your team's entry in the Two Days, No Sleep edition you registered for.
01You're the team's point person
You're registering a team and agreeing to this on behalf of everyone on it. You'll make sure your team knows the Rules and follows them. You're also our contact for everything about your team's film, including paperwork and awards.
02The Rules are part of this
You've read the Rules and agree to follow them. If a film breaks the Rules, we can make it ineligible for awards or decline to screen it. We may update the Rules before Call Time. If we do, we'll email you.
03Your film is yours
You and your team own your film. We don't take ownership of it, and we'll never sell it, license it to anyone else, or take a cut of anything you earn from it. How your team shares ownership among yourselves is up to you.
04What you let us do with it
You give the festival a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission, which doesn't expire, to:
- screen your film at Two Days, No Sleep events
- use clips, stills, your poster, your team name and your film title to promote the festival
- post your full film on our website and social channels, unless you tell us in writing not to. You can ask us to take it down at any time, and we'll do it within 14 days.
"Non-exclusive" means you can do anything else you want with your film at the same time, including submitting it to other festivals and posting it yourself.
05Getting everyone's permission
You're responsible for making sure that, before Picture Lock:
- everyone who appears in or works on the film signs the Cast & Crew Release
- the owner of each private location signs a Location Release
- the owner of any music, footage, photos, artwork or other material you didn't make during the weekend signs a Music & Materials Release
- everything in your film is either made by your team during the weekend or used with permission
You confirm that, as far as you know, your film doesn't copy anyone else's work without permission, doesn't defame anyone, and doesn't violate anyone's privacy.
06Your production is your responsibility
Your team runs its own shoot. The festival doesn't supervise, insure or pay for it. You're responsible for your team's costs, equipment, locations and conduct, and for keeping everyone safe. That includes following the law and getting any permits you need.
07If something goes wrong
- Claims about your film: if someone makes a legal claim against the festival because of your film or your team's conduct (for example, unlicensed music or damage to a location), you agree to cover the festival's reasonable costs from that claim.
- Release: you release the festival, its organizers, volunteers, partners and venues from claims about injury, loss or damage connected to your team's production, except where caused by our own gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
- Our limit: if we're ever responsible to you for anything, it's limited to the registration fee you paid.
08Fees, transfers and refunds
Registration fees are non-refundable. If your team can't take part, tell us before Call Time and we'll transfer your spot to the next season, once.
09Photos and video at our events
We'll take photos and video at Call Time, the Premiere Nights and The Wrap, and we may use them to promote the festival.
10The legal bits
- California law applies.
- If part of this agreement isn't enforceable, the rest still applies.
- This agreement and the Rules are the whole deal between us about your entry.
- Checking the box at registration counts as your signature.
- If the Producer is under 18, a parent or guardian must also agree to this before Call Time. Email hello@twodaysnosleep.com and we'll send the form.
